[replica] was inspired by a particularly bizarre experience I had my sophomore year, which led to my initial exploration of delusions, in particular Cotard's and Capgras. I settled my focus on the latter, in which the sufferer believes everyone they know has been replaced by identical impostors. I found further visual inspiration from the 1950s film "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", which perfectly captured the mood of uncertainty that I aimed to create. From there, I created drapes that translated the act of hatching or shedding into garments that comprise this 15 look collection.
